LOVR™
Composition & Sourcing
What is LOVR™ made of?
LOVR™ is a single-layer material composed of 60% hemp fibres, combined with natural additives including waxes, pigments and bio-based glues for enhanced durability and structural integrity. It contains no plastics and no synthetic binders.
Where is the hemp used in LOVR™ sourced from?
The hemp fibres used in LOVR™ are sourced in Europe from traceable agricultural residue streams – by-products of industrial hemp cultivation, primarily grown for seeds. No additional agricultural land or resources are required.
Does LOVR™ contain petrol-based additives?
No. LOVR™ relies exclusively on bio-based components and natural additives at every stage of production.
Performance & Technical Specs
What finishing options are available?
LOVR™ can be finished in a variety of ways: pressing for a smooth finish, sanding for a soft suede feel, embossing to resemble a classic leather grain, and perforation to adjust breathability.

What thickness options are available?
Thickness typically ranges from 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm depending on application and customisation.
Can LOVR™ be shaped or customized?
Yes. LOVR™ can be 3D formed, cut, embossed and perforated, allowing for significant design versatility. It is available in a standard width of 1.40 metres on rolls of any length. Custom cutting and confection are available.
How flexible is LOVR™?
LOVR™ offers moderate flexibility due to its dense hemp fibre structure, making it well suited to structured applications. Improved flexibility achieved in the lab in 2026 is scheduled for validation at industrial scale.
Can LOVR™ be glued?
Yes, LOVR™ can be bonded using adhesives, including bio-based options such as Caremelt®.
What is the maximum heat resistance for LOVR™
LOVR™ withstands temperatures up to 130°C for short processing periods of up to 3 minutes, making it compatible with standard industrial finishing workflows.
How does LOVR™ age?
LOVR™ develops a natural patina over time while maintaining structural integrity. Surface colour remains stable under abrasion. It will only biodegrade under active composting conditions with heat, moisture and microbial activity – not during normal product use.
Can LOVR™ be colored?
LOVR™ naturally presents in earthy tones including browns and greys. It can be coloured using natural pigments, working best for subtle and muted finishes.
Sustainability & Certifications
Is LOVR™ patented?
A patent for the LOVR™ production process and material was filed in Germany in 2021 and subsequently in the EU and internationally via PCT in the USA, Canada, China, India, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam. The patent is currently pending.
